Difference between effect and affect
There is a big difference between effect and affect. The word affect is a verb which means “to act on; produce an impact or change in”. For example- The summer affects the water level in water bodies like rivers, ponds, etc. It can also mean “to impress the mind or move the feelings of,” as in The rain affected his mood deeply.
The word Effect is a noun which means “result” or “consequence,” as in It is the effect of summer that water level has dipped in water bodies.
|It is the effect of your hard work that you came first in your class tests.||Your hard work affected your result in class tests.|
|The change in Government’s policies had no effect on anybody.||The change in Government’s policies did not affect anybody.|
